It’s called organic cotton the cotton which throughout its production process no synthetic or chemical has been used. The fields where it’s grown might also meet certain special conditions, it must stay from three to ten years without being chemically treated and should have a security area to avoid contamination of other adjacent fields.
We are in contact with cotton products every day, from the clothes we wear to the sheets in our beds, through diapers for kids and even some foods contains cotton.
Traditional cotton consumes 40% of all agrochemicals used in the world, requires the use of enormous amounts of pesticides which has a large environmental impact and also endangers the lives of those who work in growing and handling it.
Maybe the cost to produce and buy conventional cotton is cheaper but it is much better for the earth, for their workers and for our own welfare the use of certified organic cotton whenever we can. When we buy something made from organic cotton we are not only buying the product itself, but we are also buying clean water, fresh air and clean fields. Responsible and thoughtful consumption.
