As I told you a while ago, I’ll be in the next edition of Nomada Market that will take place next week in Madrid. In particular on October 3, 4 and 5. I’ll be there along with 200 designers selling our products.
Nomada Market becomes this fall a great sustainable sewing workshop. This new edition is called “Low Costura” (Low Sewing) and tries to claim sewing as a simple, practical and low cost alternative to create and reuse items in contrast to the fashion industry which every day promotes more “disposable” items.
Expo “Art Saves Lives”
There will be an exhibition of Eva Maldonado proposing a journey through the different stages of the creative process of a collection of experimental fashion. You will be able to also see and touch the materials and discover how art, creating and sewing work as a cure against diseases such as stress and depression. Read more here.
Several interesting workshops will take place throughout the weekend at Nomada Market. The cost of the workshops is included in the admission but places are limited and are awarded by lottery from applications received until 28 September. Only do 1 workshop per person. Here is all the information from the workshops on Friday 3rd, Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th.
There will be also express workshops 15 minutes long during the weekend and you don’t need prior registration for these workshops. You have more information here.
In the children’s area kids will enjoy Nomada Market much or more than the old ones. With ongoing workshops and activities specifically designed for them, they will seek hidden treasures and learn songs and games. Registration for the workshops can be made here.
In this edition, you can enjoy an area for the gastronomy, health food and gourmet handmade products. Cervezas La Virgen, La Massala, Proyecto Los Aires, Cómo Té Encuentras, Merendando Galletas, Lise & Leti Homemade Cookies and Dilo con chutes among others!
DJ’s and live music
On Saturday and Sunday from 17.30 the group Desvariétés will evoke the joy, glamor and eccentricity of the happy 20’s. Rhythm of Belle Epoque for all audiences. In addition, the collective DJ’s Mndanga will cheer up the three days of the fair.
Everyone is welcome to Nomada Market! A dog friendly space where design, artisanal food and music unite.
