A few months ago when I was in New York I visited one of the most beautiful craft stores that I’ve seen, Purl Soho. I will tell you about this store next time (I haven’t told you all about my NY trip yet!) but today I wanted to show a new bag that I made with some gorgeous fabrics that I bought there.
For the outside of the bag I used a sturdy fabric by the japanese artist Yoshiko Jinzenji, which I fell in love with from the moment I entered store! Yoshiko is a reputable artist whose works have been exhibited in places like the New York Craft Museum.
The lining fabric is by designer Jenean Morrison for “Westminster Fibers” collection. It is also a beautiful fabric and makes a nice contrast to the outside.
I wanted to make a multipurpose bag to store everything long time ago and I’ve ventured on making this tote type bag, with zipper closure and with many inner pockets to keep everything organized inside.
It was also useful as an experiment in adding to the bags synthetic leather pieces and I liked the result. I hope to upload soon some bags like this with different materials to the online shop, I have many ideas to implement!
