Cork design

Sustainable design is back in style. The more I pay attention the more I see cork decor items everywhere- Today I show you some examples of cork design that can inspire you to make your home cozier and sustainable.

When I learned that Ikea was launching a cork furniture collection in collaboration with designer Ilse Crawford I started thinking of ideas to redecorate my house and my studio with its wonderful pieces.

Ikea Sinnerlig collection is designed using natural and resistant materials such as cork, bamboo and glass.

The designer Ilse Crawford is an amazing woman. Founder of the magazine Elle Decoration, she believes that spaces and items that people use to live and work should make us feel comfortable, at home, and bring enjoyment to everyday activities. This belief is the basis of design and consulting work she does with her design agency, Studio Ilse.

Cork design gives fresh air to any space, and can be used both indoors and outdoors, since despite its fragile appearance cork is a very durable and waterproof material.

Other design studios such as Two Designers or Ferm Living are also using cork in some of their collections.

What do you think? Are you going to give a chance to cork design?
