Last weekend at Nomda Market “Be Yourself” edition I had a strange feeling, as if I had already been there. Probably because my grandparents had a fruit store, the atmosphere of the Mercado de la Cebada was very familiar to me.
In the summer I still go with my grandmother to the food market “Ingeniero Torroja” in Algeciras, where her brother had a fruits booth. She enjoys herself as a little girl looking at all the stuff that it’s sold there, she can’t help it.
We really had a great time. We discovered new faces, meet with old friends and had a very entertaining weekend with all the people in the market.
Changes are always difficult and leaving the iconic Chamartin station has been hard for everyone. Nomada Market needed a refresh and the bet of changing its location is the beginning of a new era.
The organization has a lot to review and improve for next editions but after so many years of Nomada I think it’s important to continue innovating. What is certain is that it will remain being a project done from the heart and with the efforts of all of us it will remain as one of the most important events of independent design of Spain. See you in the next edition!
